Let us all pray this in unity for the Peas family today... That the Most High God will hear and turn His ear to our prayers for them...
"Help the Peas to trust in You at all times; help them to pour out their hearts to You, God, for You are Mark and Pam's refuge. O Lord, help them not to be afraid to speak to You what is on their hearts. Your Word says that You know our thoughts and actions, You know what we are going to say before a word forms on our tongues. You will never be offended when we pour out the earnest despair and bitterness that wells in our hearts. You desire for Mark and Pamela to cry out in their agony, and You can take their feelings of anger, dismay and confusion. In pouring out their hearts to You, they can rid themselves of soul-cancerous bitterness. And they can make room for You to pour in Your healing. (Psalm 62:8 and Psalm 139:1-4)
Lord, we lift them to You. We love them and we love You. Amen."

Bachelor Creek
This morning, Mark and Pamela knew that church would be difficult to get through... It was good for all 6 of them to be in the service together. Thank you to Tracy and Morgan for sitting with them and supporting them during the service.
God is always working and Mark and Pam could feel Him during worship - like many of the songs were picked just for them. The Lord was with them as many were praying for them during the service this morning.
Thank you to all who came forward to stand with them and pray at the end of the service when Pastor David asked the family to come forward. And the line of people waiting to talk to them after the prayer was very touching. All the kind words, touches, prayers and encouragement are helping them get through this tragic time.
Mark and Pam are still overwhelmed by the precious response of all their friends, family, the community and the church. The emotions that they are dealing with vary greatly and come and go. Please continue to pray for peace and joy.
Thank you, once again, to Pastor David and the church family for your support and love this morning.

Amish Builders
Mark and Pam were deeply touched by their builders, the Miller Family, coming out to the property today to see the damage and begin talking about what can be done to start the cleanup and how. Clearly the Millers care very much for the whole family, and they showed it by being there today. The Millers understand, all too well, the amount of time, energy and love that was put into the Peas' beautiful home.
It was evident that they have ended up being more than just the builders Mark and Pam hired, they are friends. And for that the Peas are grateful.

Lots of Help
Today there were several people at the Peas' property and everyone was working!!
Thank you to the Eads family for helping to get well water to the shop! So many people showed up to help with that project - in the mud and the slush and the freeze and the fog! Thank you!!
And many thanks to those people also helping sort in the shop. It seems that the list of jobs to be done is endless, but some sense is starting to be made of the chaos. THANK YOU!!

The Kids Go to the House
After opening gifts and enjoying Christmas morning together, Mark and Pam took the kids out to the house. They were not sure how the kids would react, but it seemed the right time for them to go take a look.
All four kids did very well while at the house. They were intrigued, interested and really just wanted to understand what had happened. They walked through and had a chance to go to their rooms to see what they were like. Although it wasn't easy for anyone, they got through it and some of the mystery was gone for the kids.
They spent time in the shop going through some things that were there and eventually ended up back at Ernie and Kay's house.
Praise the Lord that all went well and that this big step for all of them is over. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guard the hearts and minds of those kids, keeping them from fear and visions of what happened. Ask that the Most High God will fill them with peace and healing.
"Now may the Lord bless Jacklyn, Jared, Jayden and Jaxton and keep them. May the Lord make His face to shine upon and be gracious unto them. May He lift up the light of His countenance upon them and give them peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Visit to the ER
On Christmas Eve, Pam's sister Justine, her husband Jason, and their son Kellen (19 months) had to make a trip to the emergency room... Kellen was having trouble breathing and he had a fever that would not seem to go down even on ibuprofen and tylenol. Tracy Bostwick met them at the ER and was extremely helpful in them getting the meds and help they needed there.
Kellen does seem to be doing a bit better and Justine, Jason and Kellen headed home to Illinois on Christmas morning. Please keep them in your prayers as he recovers from croup and please pray that his fever stays down.
Just as you would imagine, this has been difficult for everyone. It has added some stress and worries. Please ask the Lord to heal Kellen and to bring peace to Justine and Jason as they help Kellen get well! Thank you.

Thank You from Pamela
Hi Everyone! It's Pamela.
I do not have any words to express our gratitude to our family, our friends, our neighbors, and people I haven't even met. Life has dealt us a couple of wammies, but with all of you and God we will get through this, too. Our kids have been our saving grace, knowing that we all survived and that He led us out of the house safely is priceless. We are so humbled and feel so undeserving of all of the unselfish acts of kindness that has been bestowed upon us. As I type this my children are laying in the dark singing Christmas songs with Mark while the tears are flowing and our glory has been given to God in our prayers. I learned a long time ago in my life that things happen for a reason. I just know I may never know that reason in this lifetime. I miss my parents terribly at a time like this, but my time here is obviously not done. I have a lot more serving and dancing to do. Just know that we have felt so many arms around us and we can hear your prayers.
Our one wish to ALL of you is to enjoy this time of Christ's birth, Merry Christmas!
Love, Mark, Pamela, Jacklyn, Jared, Jayden, Jaxton, and even Ranger

Return to Fire Destroyed Home
Mark and Pamela went out to the house last night while the kids were with friends. This was a difficult and emotionally devestating experience. Immediate family was there with them for support. Your continued prayers are needed for strength and healing.
Please pray for them according the scriptures:
May the Peas desire to dwell in the shelter of YOU, the Most High. May they rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord God, be their refuge and fortress in whom we put our trust. (Psalm 91:1-2).
Yet YOU are always with the Peas Family. You hold them by Your right hand. You guide them with Your counsel... Whom have we in heaven but You? And earth has nothing we desire besides You. Our hearts and flesh might fail, but You, O God, are the strength of our hearts and our portion forever... But as for us, it is good to be near You, our God. We know that You are sovereign, our refuge. (Psalm 73:23-28)

Rumors
There are several rumors going around about the home being poorly built or not constructed properly. Mark and Pam want you to know that is not true - they were very happy with their builders and had researched every part of the building process. As you re-tell the story, please stick to the facts that have been posted on the "House Fire Update" post. Thank you for your understanding and sensitivity.

House Fire Update
The Peas Family wants you to know that they did have a house fire last night, BUT no one was harmed. Everyone is safe and sound! Praise the Lord!
The fire started in the attic appearing to come from the chimney. Pam woke up about 2:30am to the smell of smoke. Mark checked the attic and they called 911. They woke the kids and loaded them into the vehicles. They all made it to safety in their pole barn which is about 200 feet from the house. Firefighters arrived quickly and worked until the fire was out which was roughly around 7:00am. Basically the entire first floor was consumed by the blaze, but they were able to salvage a few items from the home after the fire was extinquished. The total damage is unknown at this time.
They are currently staying with Mark's parents until temporary housing arrangements are worked out.
The Peas Family wants to thank everyone for your prayers, generosity, donations, and love. They are humbled and overwhelmed by support.
Please keep praying for comfort and peace during this time of loss and uncertainty. And check back for further updates. Thank you.
